Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that has no specific goals for the participant to accomplish, allowing players plenty of independence in choosing how to experiment with the gameHowever, there can be an achievement system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the choice to learn in third person method. The core gameplay revolves around putting and breaking blocks. The overall game world is composed of rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a fixed grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move freely across the world, objects can only be placed at resolved locations on the grid. Players can gather these materials place and blocks them anywhere else, thus allowing for various constructions.In the very beginning of the game, the player is located on the top of any procedurally generated and virtually infinite game world. The planet is divided into biomes which range from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk over the terrain consisting of plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies. The in-game time system practices a full day and night pattern, with one full routine lasting 20 real-time minutes. Through the entire course of the game, players encounter various non-player character types known as mobs, including animals, villagers and hostile animals. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for food and crafting materials, and spawn in the day time. In comparison, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique animals have been observed by reviewers, such as the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks through to the gamer; and the Enderman, a creature with the ability to teleport and grab blocks.
