Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that has no specific goals for the player to perform, allowing players plenty of liberty in choosing how to try out the gameHowever, there is an achievements system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the choice to experiment with in third person function. The core gameplay revolves around placing and breaking blocks. The game world comprises rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a set grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move across the world freely, objects can only be located at predetermined locations on the grid. Players can gather these materials blocks and place them in other places, allowing for various constructions thus.In the beginning of the game, the player is positioned on the top of the procedurally made and virtually infinite game world. The global world is divided into biomes which range from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk across the terrain comprising plains, mountains, forests, caves, and different water bodies. The in-game time system uses a full night and day pattern, with one full routine lasting 20 real-time minutes. Throughout the course of the game, players come across various non-player heroes known as mobs, including pets or animals, villagers and hostile animals. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for food and crafting materials, and spawn in the day time. By contrast, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique animals have been observed by reviewers, such as the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks through to the player; and the Enderman, a creature having the ability to teleport and grab blocks.
