Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that has no specific goals for the ball player to accomplish, allowing players a great amount of freedom in choosing how to experiment with the gameHowever, there is an achievements system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the option to try out in third person setting. The core gameplay revolves around breaking and putting blocks. The overall game world comprises rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a fixed grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move across the world freely, objects can only just be put at set locations on the grid. Players can gather these materials place and blocks them anywhere else, thus enabling various constructions.In the beginning of the game, the ball player is located on the top of the procedurally made and nearly infinite game world. The global world is split into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfield. Players can walk over the terrain consisting of plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various water bodies. The in-game time system comes after a full day and night routine, with one full pattern lasting 20 real-time minutes. Through the entire course of the game, players face various non-player people known as mobs, including family pets, villagers and hostile animals. Non-hostile animals--such as cows, pigs, and chickens--can be hunted for food and crafting materials, and spawn in the daytime. In comparison, hostile mobs--such as large spiders, skeletons, and zombies--spawn during nighttime or in dark places, such as caves. Some Minecraft-unique creatures have been noted by reviewers, including the Creeper, an exploding creature that sneaks up on the player; and the Enderman, a creature having the ability to teleport and pick up blocks.
