Minecraft is a sandbox video game at first created by Swedish game developer Markus "Notch" Persson, and later developed and released by Mojang. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow players to make constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the overall game include exploration, tool gathering, crafting, and battle. Minecraft is a three-dimensional sandbox game that has no specific goals for the gamer to perform, allowing players a great amount of freedom in choosing how to try out the gameHowever, there can be an achievements system. Gameplay by default is first person, but players have the option that can be played in third person mode. The core gameplay revolves around breaking and inserting blocks. The game world is composed of rough 3D objects--mainly cubes--arranged in a set grid pattern and representing different materials, such as dirt, stone, various ores, water, lava, tree trunks, etc. While players can move freely across the world, objects can only be positioned at predetermined locations on the grid.
